Velvet is the second of Shazanni's foals and was named for the fact that her coat is always so  velvety black and shiney, although mid spring until shaved, it looks as awful as all the coats do at the shaggiest time of the year.   This year, Velvet has a lovely black and white filly at side, her first foal.  No trouble being a mother at all, Velvet had an easy and fast delivery and took to being a mother like a pro.
